Jake Comfort  |  Updated: August 2019

It can be hard to find a quality mattress at a good price. The good folks at Linenspa think they have the answer. This company offers a fairly impressive range of mattresses. Best of all, you can find most or all of their products at retail stores like Walmart or online at popular retailers like Amazon.

This article will help you understand the different options from Linenspa. We’ll cover their popular hybrid designs as well as their innerspring and pure memory foam offerings. We’ll also go over the other information you need to know to make an informed decision.  Use the information in this review to decide if a Linenspa mattress is what you’ve been looking for, or if you should keep looking.

Linenspa Mattress Construction

Linenspa offers 6 different mattresses for sale. Three of these mattresses are constructed in same way, with the only difference being the total thickness of the mattress. These are their gel memory foam hybrid mattresses. We’ll look at their 10-inch version as an example of these options. We’ll also cover their 10-inch latex hybrid, their 6 inch innerspring, and their 5 inch gel memory foam mattresses.

Linenspa 10-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Reviews

This section uses the 10-inch gel memory foam offered by Linenspa as an example for the other gel-memory foam hybrids. The primary difference between this and the 8”,

The Cover

We’ll start with the cover, which is made from a polyester blend. It’s very soft to first touch. The polyester blend does a great job of allowing the mattress to breathe, bringing fresh air into the mattress and removing hot, stale air from the inside. Additionally enhanced airflow means that more moisture can be wicked away during the night, helping you stay dry and comfortable while you’re sleeping.

Another lovely feature with this cover is that it’s quilted with memory foam. That means you get pressure relief the second you get into the bed. This memory foam quilting also acts as a functional layer, allowing the bed to gently transition you through the different levels of support in the mattress.

The Layers

The first layer of this mattress is made from poly foam. The thickness of this level is 3.5 inches. This material has a very quick response to pressure. That means you won’t get the sinking feeling that’s common for some slower-acting memory foam mattresses. Additionally, this layer is infused with gel. That means that it’s more breathable than regular poly foam. As a result, you’ll get less heat retention and better moisture wicking.

The second layer is made from 6.5” steel coils. These coils function as the primary support system for the mattress. They also provide a good amount of bounce, making the mattress appealing to those who like some spring in their bedtime activities.

Another feature of the innerspring coil system the Linenspa 10” gel memory foam mattress uses is that the space between the coils allows for plenty of airflow. This is one way that the Linenspa stands out from other hybrid mattresses. Many other mattresses use a pocketed coil system. The coil system in a Linenspa more closely resembles a traditional innerspring mattress. That means you’ll get more airflow, but you also might get more motion transfer as well.

Linenspa 10-inch Latex Hybrid

The Linenspa 10” Latex Hybrid is very similar to the 10” gel-memory foam hybrid. The main difference is that this mattress uses latex instead of memory foam for the comfort layer.

The mattress uses the same type of cover as the memory foam hybrid. The first layer is made from a latex foam. This foam is 3” thick and provides a bouncier initial feeling than you get with traditional memory foam.

Additionally, using latex as the comfort layer changes the way the mattress reacts to your body. Latex produces a gentler, more rounded contour than you get with traditional memory foam. that means that people who feel like they’re too “stuck in” when they sleep on memory foam might enjoy the latex option that Linenspa offers.

The 6.5” steel coil system acts as the main support for the mattress. This coil system allows for great airflow and bounce, but might have some issues with motion transfer.

Linenspa 6-inch Innerspring

The Linenspa 6” innerspring mattress is a great option for people looking for a bed for a child’s room, or guest room. It doesn’t offer all of the features of Linenspa’s hybrid mattress offerings, but it’s still a high-quality product at a reasonable price.

The cover of the mattress is made from soft, quilted fabric. The fabric is quilted with a layer of foam to provide additional comfort and support for sleepers, without making the bed too thick or too expensive.

The primary support system for this bed comes from its sturdy steel innerspring system. This system is very responsive and does a good job at providing support where you need it while preserving the bouncy feeling of a traditional innerspring mattress.

Our favorite thing about this mattress was the flexibility it offers. It can fit bunk beds, trundle beds, and day beds. That means it’s a good option for a wide variety of furniture and uses.

Linenspa 5-inch Gel Memory Foam

The last Linenspa Mattress we’ll cover is the 5” Gel-Memory Foam mattress.

The cover for this mattress is a very sleek and attractive white quilted pattern. The quilting contains a full inch of gel-infused memory foam to provide initial pressure relief and softness. The gel that’s infused into the foam quilted into the cover helps to remove heat. This works because the gel opens up more airflow within the memory foam and also acts as a cooling agent. That means you can get a good, consistent temperature while you sleep. The enhanced airflow also helps to move moisture away from your body.

The core of this bed is 4 inches of high-density support foam. This foam is much denser and firmer than the foam used in the first layer. That means you can get the support you need without sacrificing the softness that makes memory foam such an attractive mattress material option.

Linenspa Twin Mattress Reviews

One thing that’s important to note is that the edge support you get from the different Linenspa mattresses is above average for the price point. That makes them an especially appealing option for people that sleep in a twin bed.

This is because the greater edge support lets you comfortably use more of the bed’s surface area. As a result, you can sleep in a twin mattress without feeling like you’re about to tumble off the side of the bed or back in your old college dorm.

Firmness, Feel & Support

The firmness, feel, and support you get from a Linenspa bed changes based on which mattress you’re talking about. We’ll do our best to cover all of the different Linenspa mattress options when we’re discussing the firmness, feel, and support you should expect. We’ll also try to explain how the different mattress thicknesses relate to the way the firmness, feel, and support work for Linenspa products.

Generally the memory-foam hybrid options will become less firm the thicker they get. That’s because the additional thickness means more memory foam, and memory foam is softer than innerspring coils.

The 10” gel memory foam mattress has a good medium-firm firmness. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most firm and 1 being the least firm, this mattress rates at about a 7. That puts it right on the dot for what most Americans expect a mattress to feel like.

The firmness for the 10” latex hybrid is very similar to that of the 10” gel memory foam hybrid. The 6” innerspring mattress is a bit firmer, coming in at a 7.5, while the 5” gel memory foam mattress is a bit softer, ranking at about a 6.5.

The feel you get from these mattresses is pretty good, especially for the price. We found that the upper layers of foam and/or latex did a really good job of creating a soft, inviting sensation while easing you on to the primary support of the innerspring system. However, heavier sleepers may find this transition happens a bit too quickly. If that’s the case, then a thicker memory foam layer could be the solution you’re looking for.

The support that you get from these mattress is alright. It’s not remarkably great, but it’s also not bad. On the whole, this makes Linenspa mattresses good options for guest rooms, people without special support needs, and children’s rooms. However, if you have problems that require specific types of back, neck, hip, or knee support, then Linenspa’s options may or may not work for you.

Sinkage and Motion Transfer

This is one area where the Linenspa mattress doesn’t really stand out at all. The layers of gel-memory foam and/or latex in their hybrid mattress have a tendency to sink fairly quickly. As a result, some people find themselves being transitioned to the coil system faster than they’d like.

Also, there are some reviews that claim the bed began to show noticeable signs of permanent sinkage relatively soon after purchase. We didn’t encounter this issue ourselves, but we’ve only got limited amounts of time to try a mattress before we need to move on to the next one. That being said, these issues may be limited, or they may be more widespread. We recommend checking out reviews at the time you’re considering your purchase to see what people are saying.

The other issue here is motion transfer. The bed works just fine for individual sleepers. However, the support system the bed uses isn’t the best for limiting motion transfer. Other hybrid mattresses use pocketed coils to prevent motion from moving across the support system of the bed. Linenspa’s coils aren’t individually pocketed though, they’re much closer to a traditional innerspring system. As a result, you’re more likely to experience motion transfer when sleeping with a partner.

Pricing & Other Information

The pricing, warranty, return policy, and shipping you get with a Linenspa mattress depends on what retailer you’re purchasing from. On one hand, this can be a bit of a hassle, as different merchants can offer different terms.

On the other hand, competition between retailers means lower prices for you. As a result, you can shop around and make sure you’re getting the best deal on your new mattress. However, you need to keep different shipping and return policies in mind when you’re considering different prices at different retailers. Remember, you’re not saving money if you pay $30 less for the mattress but then have to pay for shipping.

Should You Buy a Linenspa Mattress?

This is kind of a tough one. There are plenty of instances where a Linenspa mattress is a perfect choice, but there’s also lots of situations where you should probably look elsewhere.

If you’re looking for a bed for a child’s room or guest room, don’t want to spend too much, but still get a quality mattress, then the Linenspa is a no-brainer. The mattress is extremely competitive at its price point and is designed to appeal to a broad range of sleepers. That means your guests or children will have no problem with it.

However, if you’re looking for a bed for yourself or yourself and a partner, and you want that bed to last for at least 10 years, then you might want to look elsewhere. The reports about the permanent sinkage and durability problems with the bed are more than a bit troubling. Furthermore, the innerspring system used in their hybrid mattresses means you’ll experience lots of motion transfer. That makes it hard to recommend this bed to couples, especially light sleepers that wake up if they feel someone else moving.

As a result, the answer to the question of whether or not you should buy a Linenspa mattress is highly dependent on your situation and needs. Use the information in this review to make an informed decision on if the Linenspa mattress is right for you.
